my bickerings and banterings

So this is why I've been MIA...

Ah, Mondays, how I love thee. Yeah, I actually like Mondays.

Monday means a break from the going-ons of the weekend, as in entertaining the boys (including hubby) for 72 hours straight. My kids are not in pre-school on Fridays, so when Friday comes around, I start planning what to do for the weekend. I clean like a madman, to catch up on whatever I didn't do during the week, so we can just relax on our two days together as a family.

The thing is, B and I rarely think of things to do to entertain the little ones. We really do try to think of things, but in all seriousness, Houston doesn't have much at all! I mean, there's museums and parks and what not, but a family can only do so much of that in their hometown. Of course, there's the getting together with other parentals and their offspring, but then them and us try to think of things to do together, and then we're all at a loss! Oy.

But the weekend passes by too fast anyway. Monday comes and goes. During the week, while the kids are in school, I help out with B's business, clean, workout, clean, run errands, clean, cook, entertain the kids, clean, crash. Yep, you can't get any more mundane than that.

Sometimes I wonder am I missing out on anything childless and/or significant-other-less people do. I rarely have time to breathe, much less ponder this. I do, at times, feel the grass is greener on the other side. People tell me I'm so fortunate. I have no doubt that I am. It's just...what if I can take vacations spontaneously (they require at least three months advance planning)...what if I could shop til I drop (yes, I do shop til I drop - at grocery stores and the occasional discounted discounted sale clothing item where before I didn't mind regular priced items)...what if I can go to happy hour every week (mind you, I haven't been to happy hour sans kids since I was prego with the first over four years ago!)...what if what if what if...

Then I hear P cry out "I need to go potty, Mommy! Turn the light on for me!" as he prances to the bathroom, pulling his pants down along the way, throwing his blanky to the ground, or R crying out "Hungy hungy I wan eat, Mummy!" as he yanks open the refridgerator door with all his might letting out a gasp then smiling as he gazes at the food as if angels were looking down at him in a halo of light and a chorus is singing in the background.

All my pondering dissipates in a nanosecond. I'm back into non-stop mode.

I'd say the grass is pretty green on this side.

I'm gonna be posting many mobile photos from now on as I've been lazy (or too busy) to bring about a good camera to catch our good moments:

^^In Hattiesburg, MS, playing in the park of the apartment complex Daddy lived in. This was while visiting him while he was away for the Army duties for four months last year.

^^That same afternoon. Boy, how I love it when I wear them out. They sleep good and I can get some peace and quiet for a couple of hours. Note to you childless people, never take silence for granted!

^^Ahhh, TV and fruit loops..'tis the life.

^^At Leatha's BBQ in Hattiesburg, MS. She was featured on Andrew Zimmern, but he ate bbq'd racoon and I believe rat or something crazy like that. Those aren't on their regular menu, I assure you! We stuck to the popular ribs and chicken. I couldn't get a pic of Leatha herself as she was busy and by the time I saw her, my kids were throwing tantrums so we had to haul butt outta there. Boo.

^^My awesome B. Those beer mugs/glasses were huge! Here we are in the good ol' NO, where B went with the kids and I while he was away for Army still.
